1)  Blue Springs at Lee's Summit West
A season ago the Blue Springs Wildcats fell in a 35-28 overtime loss at home
to Lee's Summit West.  A turning point in the season the Wildcats went
on to win the next 10 games and the Class 6 title. A season later their
winning streak has grown to 13 and they show no signs of slowing.
Coming off a 22-7 victory over rival Rockhurst, the Wildcats look like a
team on a mission to earn another title.  QB Ian Brown
has been impressive completing 67% of his passes for 565 yards and 9
touchdowns. Senior running back Dalvin Warmack (Kansas
State) is a game breaker who has rushed for 420 yards,
averaging nearly 8 yards-per-carry and has scored 3 touchdowns. Senior wide
out Darrius Shepherd (286 yards) and senior Kaleb
Prewett(190 yards) are a dynamic duo that have combined for 17 touchdowns.
The defense allows just 7  points per contest and has outstanding
talent.
The Titans, ranked No. 1 in Class 5 opened with a solid 28-14 victory over
Staley and have improved to 3-0 with wins over Park Hill and St. Joseph
Central. Thomas Ganaden has averaged 225 yards passing per
game this season and has passed for 9 touchdowns.  Junior Ryan Williams
and senior Demarcus Edwards each have rushed for over 200 yards on the
ground and have scored 3 touchdowns.  Senior Monte Harrison
(Nebraska) is one of the truly dynamic players in Missouri this season.
He has 242 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns, 2 rushing touchdowns, and a
passing touchdown.
While the Blue Springs offense compiles 352 yards per game, 188 comes from
their passing game.  The Titans are piling up 410 yards per game with a
236 pass/174 rush split.  Balanced offense, solid defense to quality
football teams will take the field Friday night at Lee's Summit West High
School.
A great test at the midpoint of the season for two programs ranked at the
top off their class.  A measuring stick against the best, before they
return to conference and playoff chases with a goal of representing the West
in the Edward Jones Dome later in November.
