Prepcasts Shootout brings top girls talent to STL

The Prepcasts Elite Girls Shootout V will be held at DeSmet High School on January 5th. Following is some information to use in helping us promote this event-the best All Girls Shootout in Missouri! Admission is $5 for the entire day.
Currently the participating teams have a combined record of 60-9 for 2012-13.

Outlined below are some of the Stars from each team
OPENING GAME-1:00 Dexter Lady Bearcats (11-1) vs Webster Groves Lady Statesmen (7-3)
The Dexter Lady Bearcats were a STATE Quarterfinalist team in Class 4 last season. This surging program has upgraded their schedule significantly and travels to St. Louis as part of that effort. Coach Chad Allen (108-32) has taken 2 Dexter teams to the Final Four in his 6 year tenure. Dexter returns 8 players from a last year and is led by the 2011-12 SEMO Girls Player of the Year, Brittany Harris. The Lady Bearcats have already won two Tournaments this year. The Lady Statesman have surprised some observers with their strong start this season. Coach Patti Perkins has her team at 7-3 with impressive wins over #10 ranked, Hazelwood Central and some nice wins in the Visitation Christmas Tournament.
2:30 Parkway South Patriots(7-2) vs Ozark Tigers(5-2)
Currently ranked #1 by the Springfield News-Leader, Coach Yancey Little (247-122) brings in his Ozark Tigers, a state Quarterfinalist in Class 5 last year, for the 2nd consecutive year to the Shootout. Jr Hannah Cook leads the Tigers in scoring and coupled with the strong defense, unselfish offense of the Tigers, you see a state ranked team in front of you. Ozark dropped the Championship game of the Pink Division Tournament to Hall HS (Little Rock, Ark) over the Holidays. The Parkway South team returns to the Shootout this year after being one of the teams in the inaugural Shootout. Coach Thomas Williams (243-161) has a powerful team, currently 5-1, with 4 year player, Becca Steins, and Brittany Thomas are the key cogs in the offense. The Lady Patriots, a STATE tourney team last year, love to pressure the ball, play aggressive and run.
4:15 Rock Bridge Bruins(8-2) vs Marian Catholic Spartans (14-1)
This one looms to be a great one! The Defending Class 5 Missouri Champions, the Bruins return a full complement of players, including Sophie Cunningham, for another year of play. Returning again to the Shootout, Rock Bridge is led by Coach Jill Nagel(166-31) , who has led the Bruins to 2 STATE championships, eagerly looks forward to this game against a top-flight team from Chicago. Winning the consolation bracket in a Holiday Tournament in Phoenix, the Bruins have gained even more valuable experience against national-level competition. Marian Catholic (14-1), currently ranked #2 in Chicago are led by Coach Annie Basic-Byrne (184-49). With 3 players already signed for college careers(Melanie Ransom (Davidson), Megan Walsh (Truman State) and Aliyol Isaac (Valporiso), the Spartans make the trip to St Louis to compete against the defending Class 5 Champion.
5:45 Republic Tigers(9-0) vs Westminster Christian Academy Wildcats (7-2)
Two teams from the Final Four of Class 4 of 2012, get the rare chance to tangle in the regular season. Coach Kris Flood (269-95) has led the Tigers into the STATE tournament 8 times and has another power-house team. The Lady Tigers just won the White Division in the Pink & White Lady Classic in Springfield as they downed Branson for the title. The Tigers are currently ranked #1 by the O-Zone rankings. Westminster Christian, Coached by former NBA player, Steve Stipanovich, have arrived on the big stage in a hurry. Coach Stipo brings a team that has many of their players returning from the Final Four team of last year including Sadie Stipanovich.(17 ppg) who is signed a letter of intent for St Louis U. Over the Holidays, WCA dropped the Championship game to MICDS in the MICDS Tournament.. Each team realizes that their opponent could be seen again in March in Columbia, MO!
7:15 St. Joseph's Academy Angels (7-1) vs Carthage Tigers (6-1)
Carthage makes their first appearance in the Shootout. Coming off a 21-8, STATE tournament team. Coach Jim Moore (194-67) has previously led Fair Grove to the STATE tournament so he knows how to build a winner and has this team in some top 10 rankings in the Southwestern MO rankings. The St Joe Angels, Led by Coach Julie Matheny (309-100-14 years) are annual visitors to the STATE tournament and often the Final Four. Currently ranked #2 in St Louis, Sydney Stipanovich (cousin of WCA, Sadie Stipanovich and a U Penn recruit) and Erin Nelson(SLU recruit) provide the 1-2 inside-outside punch for the Angels. St Joe's dropped the championship game of the Visitation Christmas Tournament over the Holidays.
