Today let's take a look at the top ten stories from the
opening week of Class 3 district football.
Class 3 District "Top Ten at 10:00"
1) Demarco Billups completed 16-of-21 passes
for 347-yards and 4 touchdowns to lead Miller Career to a 32-22 victory over No.
1 ranked Cardinal Ritter to earn a huge district victory.
2) Savannah defeats No. 9 ranked Chillicothe
27-10 in a MEC Showdown. Justin Roach passed for 100
yards and a touchdown, he also rushed for three scores to lead the Savages to
victory.
3) No. 6 ranked Cassville earned a 27-0 shutout victory over
No. 2 ranked Monett in a key district 12 matchup. Joseph Guivion
rushed for more than 100 yards and pair of touchdowns and the Wildcat defense
that has allowed and average of 4 points per game over their past 5 contests
earned shut down the Cubs.
4). Senior
Brandon Bourbon led Potosi to their 8th victory as he
rushed for three touchdowns and returned a fumble nearly 40-yards for a score in
a 44-7 district opening victory over Fredericktown.
5) Undefeated Bowling Green remained perfect
earning a 7-3 victory in Washington over the Borgia Knights.
6) Logan Rogersville shut down the Panther
running game that had produced more than 1600 yards of rushing entering the game
earning a 23-6 victory over Mtn. Grove to improve to 7-1 on the season, 1-0 in
district play.
7) Herculaneum topped Priory 33-13 taking a very large step
towards the district title.
8) Boonville was led by junior tailback Kellen Kempf
who rushed for 246 yards on 32 carries, accounted for all the scoring as he
rushed for 4 touchdowns in the 28-19 victory over Moberly.
9) Sam Van Doren completed 11-of 16 passes for 148 yards and a
pair of touchdowns in a 33-8 victory for John Burroughs over Berkeley.
10) Lutheran South, who recently had one of the longest losing
streaks in the state, earned their second victory of the year defeating John F.
Kennedy 42-7 giving them a shot of playoff hope! Brandon Lewis scored a
pair of touchdowns for South.
