Central finds new Head Basketball Coach
Springfield Public Schools has hired Armando Johnson to serve as head boys basketball coach at Central High School. He will replace Coach Eddie Thomas who is retiring at the end of this school year.
Johnson is currently the head men's basketball coach at Labette Community College in Parsons, Kansas, where he has worked since 2003.

He has more than 15 years of coaching experience, including eight years as head coach at the community college level. Johnson has bachelor of arts degrees in Spanish and history and a bachelor of science degree in education, all from Pittsburg State University.
Johnson's hiring is pending final approval by the school board
