In an effort to bring St. Louis some of the best basketball in the region, the American Cancer Society is hosting the 5th annual St. Louis Coaches vs. Cancer High School Shootout presented by Ameren Missouri, along with media partners, KMOX and KMOV and sponsors Express Scripts, IAABO (International Association of Approved Basketball Officials) and IAFO (Interscholastic Association of Football Officials). on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 at Scottrade Center. The St Louis Coaches vs. Cancer Shootout, presented by Ameren Missouri, brings together high school basketball coaches, players and fans for a one-day, competitive tournament while raising funds for the Society. This initiative has raised much needed funds to support the American Cancer Society's mission of helping people stay well, helping people get well, by finding cures and fighting back.
The Coaches vs. Cancer initiative is collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches. It provides education and prevention information to basketball fans nationwide, inviting fans to join with their local coach in support of the program.
The American Cancer Society will present its Fifth Annual Coaches vs. Cancer Shootout, which will be held on Thursday, Jan. 9 at the Scottrade Center.
The eight-game event will feature 16 top boys and girls teams from Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Colorado and Indiana.
