Edward Jones Dome, St. Louis Missouri

Saturday, November 24, 5:30 PM

As they did in their 2009 playoff meeting the Blue Springs Wildcats overwhelmed DeSmet from the opening kickoff earning a 42-7 victory.  Wylson Lamb connected with Darrius Shepherd on a 47-yard touchdown pass giving the Wildcats a 7-0 lead.

Junior running back Dalvin Warmack rushed for 174 yards, he scored a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter, and finished the game with three.  Lamb connected with DeShaughn Terry on a scoring strike and Donald Garcia added a touchdown run.  The lead would build to 42-0 before DeSmet added a late touchdown.

Francis Howell advanced to the Class 6 Show-Me Bowl following their 17-6 victory over Lafayette.  Their dominating defense has propelled the Vikings throughout the season. The Vikings allow just 7.8 points per game and allowed just 6 points in three playoff games.

Zac Perkins connected on a 50-yard field goal to opening the scoring.  Mike Glass connected with Alex Montgomery to give the Vikings a 10-0 second period advantage. Glass later connected with Donte Harrell to complete the Viking scoring.

The Vikings have averaged 31.7 points on offense, while allowing just a touchdown per game on defense. Donte Harrell leads the way on the ground.  He has rushed for 1,493 yards and leads the team with 25 touchdowns.  QB Mike Glass has connected on 52% of his passes for 1.090 yards and 11 touchdowns this season.

On defense senior linebacker Calvin Munson(6-3 225) has accumulated an amazing total of 186 tackles and 9 sacks.  Senior defensive end Jarrett Franklin(6-3 215) has totaled 77 tackles and 21 sacks.

Senior quarterback Wylson Lamb has passed for 1,542 ayrds and has passed for 13 touchdowns this season.  Junior Dalvin Warmack has emerged as one of the top rushers in the Show-Me state.  This season he has averaged 9 yards-per-carry for 2,113 yards and has scored 37 touchdowns.

Senior linebacker Rasheed Hobbs(5-11 205) leads the defense with 89 tackles, while junior Elijah Lee leads the team with 15 sacks.

Blue Springs: the road to the Dome

Blue Springs earned the victory in their Suburban showdown with the Rockhurst Hawklets 14-11 to advance to the semifinal round.  The Wildcat defense was the story.  Stuffing the Hawklets on the 2-yard line in the opening quarter, the Wildcats finished the game with six sacks.

The Wildcat running game was slowed, but they found a way.  QB Wylson Lamb connected with Darrius Shepherd on a 58-yard scoring strike to open the scoring.  Later Shepherd scored on a 72-yard punt return giving the Wildcats the winning margin.

Blue Springs pounded Suburban conference foe Liberty 52-21 to advance to the quarterfinal round of the MSHSAA Class 6 playoffs.  The Wildcats were led through the air by Wylson Lamb who completed 9-of-15 passes for 193 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

On the ground junior running back Dalvin Warmack rushed for 224 yards and added 4 touchdowns.   The Wildcat defense was solid, picking up 4 sacks, a fumble recovery, and an Antwon President interception.

The No. 1 seeded Blue Springs Wildcats advanced to the second round with a 61-13 victory over Lee's Summit North.  Senior QB Wylson Lamb completed 12-of-16 passes for 226 yards and 2 touchdowns. Junior Dalvin Warmack rushed for 80 yards and scored 4 touchdowns.

Francis Howell: The road to the Dome

Donte Harrell opened the scoring with a 42-yard touchdown run, he finished with 141 yards, averaging 9.4 yards-per-carry, and scoring a pair of touchdowns.   Mike Glass completed 3-of-5 passes, all three for touchdowns including a pair of first quarter connections with Brandon Suwanpratest (15 yards) and Richie Eisenhart (20 yards).  The Vikings built a 28-0 first quarter advantage, never looking back as they earned a 45-0 victory over Hickman (Columbia).

The shutout for the Viking defense was their second consecutive, they have held opponents to a touchdown or less in eight victories this season.  Meanwhile the GAC South champions have overcome a change at quarterback to average nearly 33 points per game.  Glass has filled in, completing 52% of his passes for 935 yards and 9 touchdowns.  Harrell has rushed for 1,358 yards and leads the team with 20 touchdowns.

For several years the Jefferson City Jays were the road block that stood between Francis Howell and dreams of the Class 6 title game.  By vanquishing a long time antagonist the Vikings continue their quest.

The Howell defense was rock solid, shutting out the Jay offense that averages 27 points per game.  A Mike Glass to Brandon Suwampratest 8-yard pass in the third quarter was all that was needed for the Vikings to earn a 7-0 victory.

As they did earlier in the season the Vikings of Francis Howell had little difficulty getting past Howell Central 56-21. Mike Glass and Austin Gates combined to pass for four touchdowns in the victory.

The Vikings will not host their playoff nemesis of many seasons, the Jefferson City Jays on Friday evening.
