Around the Show-Me State

On the final week of the 2009 Missouri prep football season teams punched their ticket into the MSHSAA playoffs and began checking brackets to see which teams they would meet up with in the opening round.  Here is a look at news around the Show-Me State as the playoffs approach.

Webster Groves completed their 9-0 regular season with a victory over Chaminade.  In the victory the Statesmen showed their defensive might shutting down talented Chaminade running back Rob Standard.  For the complete story Click Here

Timberland clinched a top seed in the playoffs defeating Wentzville district rival Holt High School 33-0.  Check out the complete story Click Here

Growing throughout the season the young Eureka Wildcats have dealt with adversity on and off the football field.  The Wildcats edged Summit 16-14 to win district 1 with a 3-0 mark.  For a complete recap of their Summit victory Click Here

The Warrenton Warriors have put together their first winning season since 2001, and now have a chance to complete in the MSHSAA playoffs.  Warrenton earned a 35-7 victory over St. Dominic to clinch their spot, for a look at the game from Greg Neunuebel Click Here

Westminster continues their improbable run to the district title in Class 4 District 6 defeating Duchesne to advance. Click Here for the entire story.

Ft. Osage caps a perfect 10-0 regular season with a 44-8 victory over North Kansas City.  For expanded coverage Click Here

Junior running back Darrian Miller again led the way as Blue Springs earned the district title with a 49-14 victory over Rock Bridge.  Complete coverage Click Here

Lee's Summit edged district rival Lee's Summit North 24-21 to clinch their first playoff birth since 1988.  Coach Mike Spiegel had many positive comments Click Here

Joplin fell to Rockhurst in district play, however quarterback Devin St. Clair had a record setting night. Click Here

In Sikeston the Bulldogs are celebrating a 10-0 season.  Prior to their final game against Farmington a statue was unveiled to honor legendary head coach Bill Sapp. Click Here

East Prairie earned an opportunity to compete in the playoffs with a 14-0 week 10 victory over Malden. Click Here
